When I first moved to Bangkok, I lived in a very hi-so building. It was lovely.
However since my circumstances changed, I now live in a condo where my rent is a quarter of what I paid previously. And do you know what? It’s even more lovely. I have made lots of friends there, and my condo itself is a lot cosier.
My soi is also lovely. I live about a five-minute walk from Sukhumvit Road, but once I am on my soi I feel about a million miles away. I have lived there for just over three months, and it truly feels like home. The street sellers and the motor cyc guys all know me now and it’s nice to hear them say good morning to me each day.
